Hyun Joo Jung

Biography

Hyun Joo (Hannah) Jung, born in Seoul, Korea, has been a Connecticut resident since 2000. Her work has been exhibited nationwide. Her selected show invitations are from Promenade Gallery at the Bushnell (2003, Hartford CT), Gallery Korea, Korean Embassy (2005, Washington D.C.), Vision Gallery (2004, New York); Sivermine Guild Arts Center (2005-, New Canaan CT), Mercy Gallery at the Loomis Chaffee School (2008, Windsor CT), General Electric World Headquarters (2006, Fairfield CT) and Baker Arts Center (2010, Liberal KS).

She is a Juried Artist member from Silvermine Guild Arts Center and a member of Westport Arts Center.

She was a recipient in the entry of Art of the Northeast (2006) and was invited to the Artists Residency Program at I-Park (2006, East Haddam).

Her work has been reviewed by Korean Times, Cheshire Herald, Westportnow, etc. and her number of paintings are in private collection in CT, IL, NY, VA.

A graduate of Seoul National University, Korea (BFA 1997) and Southern Connecticut State University (MS 2002), she has taught at Artsplace (Cheshire), Housatonic Community College (Bridgeport), Albertus Magnus College (New Haven), and Lyman Allyn Art Museum (New London).
